On New Years Eve we were sitting at the dinner table as a family and I posed the question to my kids and wife “What would you like to do in the New Year? Is there anything you want to learn how to do or anywhere you want to go?” Jace, 9, said play the piano and Disneyland. Jackson, 8, said go duck hunting with Taylor. (A friend/co-worker of mine) Jacob, 5, said play the violin and go to the zoo. At which point Jackson agreed we should go to the zoo. Jordyn, 3, didn’t know what was going on. Jen, 32, go to Washington D.C. to visit Mama Tait. Well we are two weeks into 2010 and we got one checked off the list. Jackson and I went duck hunting this last Saturday morning at 7am. I had been hunting for deer just a handful of times growing up. Never saw or shot a thing. So duck hunting was really new to me. Fortunately Taylor is an avid duck hunter. Saturday was strangely warm, very light breeze and off and on very light rain. It was perfect. We saw a beautiful sunrise, Taylor shot 4 ducks while I took pictures and Jackson retrieved and held each dead duck. We was extremely excited as you will tell by the ear to ear grin in the following pictures. 2010 here we come!
